About this event

This is a free event designed for members of the public clinical mental health workforce in Victoria, (staff employed at Area Mental Health Services, Forensicare or mental health staff from RCH). For example, a social worker working in mental health at Austin Health. Staff from MHCSSs, ACCHOs, AOD or other partner organisations may sometimes also attend. Please note, if you do register for this event and it is not clear you are part of the intended audience, your registration will be confirmed two weeks prior to the event start date, or earlier.

An overview of co-design and an exploration of how power can impede co-design and co-production in the mental health context.

Deb Carlon, Victorian Lived Experience Co-Design Lead - CMHL

Deb leads the CMHL Co-Design Team to increase the capability of mental health services across Victoria in co-design and co-production. Ensuring those most impacted by the reforms are able to actively and genuinely partner with services.

Beth Dunlop, Leadership Development Coordinator & Member of Co-Design Team - CMHL

Beth also coordinates the Victorian Mental Health Interprofessional Leadership Network and leads the Child Information Sharing Capacity Building Project. Beth is passionate about using co-design and co-production principles to create positive systems change.

Karen Hewitt, Statewide Mental Health Enrolled Nurse Educator & Member of Co-Design Team - CMHL

Karen also works as an Enrolled Nurse Educator at CMHL, and strongly believes the implementation of co-design & co-production principles in the development of mental health systems and services can have a far-reaching impact.
